What a second impact brain injury actually is<\/h2>\n

A second impact brain injury is a second head injury. It lands before the brain has recovered from an earlier one. According to the NIH’s StatPearls medical reference<\/a>, second impact syndrome happens when a person gets a second concussion before symptoms from the first one have fully cleared.<\/p>\n

Here’s the key point most people miss. The danger doesn’t come from a hard second blow. Even a light knock to the head can set it off. So can a fall or a jolt in a crash. The problem is the timing, not the force.<\/p>\n
